Hi! My name is Mrs. Rebekah René Stearns, and I would like to share a little about myself. I was born in California but moved to Idaho when I was three. I have lived in seven different states (e.g., Alaska, California, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Rhode Island). I am the oldest of seven children. My father served in the Idaho Air National Guard at Gowen Field and my mother homeschooled us and stayed-at-home.
Years later, I met and married my husband in Alaska, who previously served in the Coast Guard on Base Kodiak Alaska as a damage controlman. While living in Alaska, I served as a U.S. Customs Inspector on the Yukon and Alaska border. We moved from Alaska to Massachusetts in 2006 to be near my husband's father. Then our family moved from the New England area to Idaho in early 2014 so that I could help care for my father who was dying of cancer. We decided to stay in Idaho since my mother and most of my siblings live in the area.
I am a proud mother of five and I have homeschooled all of my children since my firstborn son turned three (he is now a full-time college student and gainfully employed). Currently, we have two adults out of the nest and three teenagers at home. We recently adopted from a Ukrainian special needs orphanage and we are in the process of adopting another teenaged orphan and we hope to be his forever family in 2021. For fun, I like to sing, quilt, and go on adventures.
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people’s lives. This interest led me to study psychological science and eventually become a licensed professional counselor in the State of Idaho. As a licensed therapist in the greater Nampa area, I am committed to and truly care for all of my clients and work diligently to help find them the answers they seek. I have worked with a variety of clients dealing with circumstances that are unique to their lives and I love to help them progress towards hope and healing.
